Bad Memory Eraser: Episode 7 - Nice to Meet You - Recap & Review

Episode 7 of Bad Memory Eraser delves deeper into the complex relationships between Gun, Ju-yeon, Shin, and Sae-yan. The episode begins with a tense atmosphere as Gun, Shin, and Ju-yeon awkwardly navigate their interactions. Shin's jealousy intensifies when he sees Gun taking care of Ju-yeon, leading to a misunderstanding between the two.

Gun's mind is occupied by the revelation from Tae-oh that he and Ju-yeon had a rocky relationship before the accident. Believing he's alone, Gun wanders around his condo naked only to be surprised by Ju-yeon, who has returned to study Shi-on's case. Their interactions are filled with playful banter and awkward moments, as Gun tries to hide his feelings and Ju-yeon attempts to explain herself to Shin.

Meanwhile, Shin's emotional state deteriorates as he grapples with the power of love and its ability to transform a traumatic event into a positive memory. His drunken homecoming leads to a confrontation with his mother, who demands that he quit tennis if he wants to live a normal life. Mr. Lee intervenes, trying to calm the situation and remind his wife of the sacrifices everyone has made for Shin.

Sae-yan, desperate for money, turns to her father for help but is met with rejection. Seung-hyeon, feeling sorry for her, offers her his piggy bank. As Sae-yan tries to book a taxi, she encounters Shin, who is lying to his mother about his whereabouts. After a series of threats, Shin reluctantly agrees to drive Sae-yan to a village where she searches in vain for the mysterious man she's been looking for.

Ju-yeon waits patiently for Shin to arrive for their lunch date, but he never shows up. Instead, she joins Gun and Shi-on, who are preparing for the upcoming national teams competition. Despite Shi-on's dislike for Ju-yeon, the latter is determined to win her over.

As Ju-yeon's day unfolds, she receives a call from Sae-yan and offers to pick her up. Gun volunteers to drive them, curious about who this person is that Ju-yeon is so close to. Ju-yeon shares the story of her bracelet and the wish debt she owes Sae-yan. On their way to the village, they encounter a dead animal, and Gun gets out to bury it.

Shin returns and picks up Sae-yan, who insists she doesn't need Ju-yeon's help. Shin, intrigued by Sae-yan's search for the mysterious man, reveals his connection to the village. Sae-yan claims the man is her first love.

Gun, noticing Ju-yeon's low spirits, asks about her day. Ju-yeon reveals that her father was an emotional psychiatrist who dedicated his life to his patients. Tragically, a delusional patient killed him, leading Ju-yeon to vow not to get too close to any patient. However, during a recent session, she saw herself in the patient's sunglasses and realized her own shortcomings.

The day of the national teams competition arrives, and everyone gathers at the sports center. Guk-bong has been selected as the national team coach, and Shin continues to ignore Ju-yeon. Mrs. Cha puts pressure on Shi-on to perform well, but just before the match, Shi-on faints. Gun and Ju-yeon rush her to the hospital, only to realize she was faking it.

Shi-on is overwhelmed by the expectations placed on her, but Ju-yeon and Gun encourage her to do whatever she wants. Gun suggests to the director that Shi-on participate in the doubles match, allowing her and Shin to cover each other's weaknesses and increase their chances of winning.

While Gun and Ju-yeon wait for the results, Ju-yeon makes a wish bracelet for Sae-yan. Gun mistakenly believes it's for him and continues to tease her about her feelings. Their playful banter is interrupted by Shi-on, who announces that she and Shin have won the match. She also suggests that Gun hire Ju-yeon.

Guk-bong and Shin observe from afar, and the coach is surprised that Shin agreed to play doubles. Shin believes it's the only way he can help Ju-yeon, and Guk-bong is confused. He wonders why Gun and Ju-yeon are so close, and Shin reveals that she is Gun's first love. This shocks Guk-bong, as he believes Ju-yeon and Shin were making out at the reunion.

Inside, Mrs. Cha approves of Gun, while CEO Hong is annoyed. However, he steps down, claiming that his agency has more talented individuals than Gun. Shi-on and Gun mock Hong before running away.

In the evening, Gun, Guk-bong, Shin, Shi-on, and Ju-yeon prepare for a meeting with the international coach. The meeting takes place in the same hotel as the reunion, triggering Gun's déjà vu. The coach is Italian, but the interpreter has run off, leading Ju-yeon to bring in Sae-yan. As Gun parks the car, more memories return, including the one where he sees Shin making out with Sae-yan.

While the others wait, Guk-bong confronts Ju-yeon and tells her to stay away from Gun. She and Shin are confused, and Guk-bong scolds them for feigning ignorance. He reveals that Gun jumped into the river because he was heartbroken after witnessing Shin and Ju-yeon's kiss at the reunion. Shin realizes that Gun's first love is Sae-yan.

At the end of Episode 7, Gun and Sae-yan shake hands as they prepare to meet the Italian coach. The episode concludes with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eager to see how the revelations will impact the characters' relationships and the overall storyline.
