The beloved team of thieves will return in Leverage: Redemption Season 3, bringing their unique sense of justice back to the screen. This season marks a significant change for the show as it moves from the previously ad-supported platform Freevee to the major streaming service Prime Video.
Season 3 consists of 10 episodes, with the first three episodes releasing on the premiere day, followed by one new episode every Thursday.
Background: From Leverage to Leverage: Redemption
The original series Leverage aired on TNT from 2008 to 2012, introducing viewers to Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton). Once an outstanding insurance investigator, he became disillusioned with corporate greed and assembled a team of highly skilled "former" criminals: grifter Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman), hitter Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane), thief Parker (Beth Riesgraf), and hacker Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge). Using their illegal talents, they orchestrated elaborate cons to take down corrupt elites who exploited the innocent, providing "leverage" for the underdogs.
Leverage: Redemption, set years later, is a direct sequel to the original. Approximately a year after Nate Ford is presumed dead, Sophie Devereaux comes out of retirement to reunite the core team. New additions include Harry Wilson (Noah Wyle), a corporate lawyer seeking redemption for defending the very villains the team now targets; and Breanna Casey (Aleyse Shannon), Hardison’s foster sister, a tech prodigy who joins as a hacker while Hardison is away working on global projects. The team establishes a new base of operations in New Orleans, continuing their mission with adjusted methods but retaining the core spirit of fighting for those failed by the system.
Meet the Team (and New Faces)
The Leverage franchise has always centered on its ensemble cast, and Season 3 keeps the core team intact. Gina Bellman returns as Sophie Devereaux, the master grifter who has taken over as the team’s leader; Christian Kane as Eliot Spencer, the powerful hitter with surprising depth; Beth Riesgraf as Parker, the quirky yet brilliant thief; and Aleyse Shannon as Breanna Casey, the talented young hacker.
Fan favorites Aldis Hodge (Alec Hardison) and Noah Wyle (Harry Wilson) will also appear, though in recurring or guest roles. Hodge’s schedule is limited due to his lead role in Prime Video’s Cross, while Wyle stars in the series The Pitt.
Season 3 features a lineup of notable guest stars, including Jack Coleman, Drew Powell, Alex Boniello, Cedric Yarbrough, Mary Hollis Inboden, Sam Witwer, and Rachael Harris. Additionally, Noah Wyle’s real-life daughter, Auden Wyle, will reprise her role as Harry’s daughter, Becky.
Highlights of Season 3
The team will face a powerful tycoon stealing drinking water, a corrupt small-town mayor acting as judge and jury, a pool hustler running an international extortion ring, and an industrialist exploiting child labor. Adding to the pressure, the team must also deal with a target that catches up to them mid-operation and confront a vengeful enemy from Season 1.
Season 3 will pay special attention to Parker, with producer Dean Devlin calling it the most Parker-centric season to date. Other characters continue their journeys: Sophie Devereaux navigates her relationship with her stepdaughter, Interpol agent Astrid, while cautiously opening up to dating again years after Nate’s death; Eliot Spencer, having reconciled with his foster father in Season 2, continues to grapple with his violent past, focusing less on redemption (perhaps believing it’s unattainable) and more on consistent good deeds to atone; meanwhile, Breanna Casey considers college, adding new layers to her character growth.
Behind the Scenes: Creative and Production Team
A key development behind the scenes in Season 3 is the return of original Leverage co-creator John Rogers as showrunner. Rogers served as a consulting producer in the first two seasons of Leverage: Redemption and now takes over the creative lead.
Dean Devlin, executive producer of both the original and reboot series, continues in his role, collaborating with original co-creator Chris Downey, Marc Roskin, and Rachel Olschan-Wilson. Joining the creative leadership team are lead actors Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, and Beth Riesgraf, who also serve as executive producers in Season 3, reflecting their deep investment in the show.
