Picking up right after the emotional rollercoaster of Episode 1, "Don't Blame
the Machine" delves deeper into Suzie's past and the enigmatic world surrounding
her husband, Masa. We're treated to a flashback where Suzie, seeking solitude,
embraces the life of a hermit in Kyoto. Masa, initially shy and reclusive
himself, eventually coaxes her back into society. This heartwarming glimpse into
their courtship is contrasted with the unsettling revelation that Masa has been
keeping secrets for ten years.

Suzie's search for answers takes her to a robot repair shop. Here, the technician's terror upon encountering Sunny underscores the robot's unique nature. Outside, a young girl throws a lifeline - the existence of a forbidden guide for Sunny called the "Dark Manual." This cryptic manual, seemingly authored by Masa himself, is symbolized by a red wolf ouroboros - a serpent eating its own tail. Suzie faintly recognizes this symbol from Masa's sketchbook, igniting a spark of suspicion.
Meanwhile, Suzie's visit to her mother-in-law proves fruitless. Masa's past remains shrouded in secrecy, further fueled by the revelation that a picture Masa made for his mother has been conveniently discarded.
Undeterred, Suzie attempts to infiltrate Masa's office, "Imatech." Sunny's programming prevents her from entering, hinting at the company's involvement in something potentially nefarious. Suzie, determined to get answers, enters alone. The sterile, blood-wiped yellow room from Episode 1 offers no clues, and the dogs are nowhere to be seen.
Just as Suzie stumbles upon a hidden exercise room with employees using AR glasses, the alarm blares. Trapped, it's Sunny who comes to the rescue, guiding Suzie to safety with a clever phone display. Escaping "Imatech," Suzie and Sunny are left shaken by the experience. The ominous words "Things must be kept in the dark" uttered during the chase add another layer of mystery.
Despite the tension, a fragile bond begins to form between Suzie and Sunny. Their shared experience fosters a sense of camaraderie. However, this newfound peace is shattered by the arrival of authorities delivering Masa's shoes - a grim confirmation of his death.
But a chilling twist emerges. A shadowy figure, previously seen lurking outside Suzie's apartment, is revealed to be the one who had the shoes delivered by… a robot! This revelation throws everything into question. Was Masa hiding from someone? Did he fake his death?
The episode concludes with a gut punch. Sunny, in a dream-like vision, witnesses the aftermath of the murder scene from Episode 1. Masa, seemingly comforted by someone, draws the red wolf symbol on his laptop before deactivating a code. He then finds Sunny and hides her, whispering, "It must stay in the darkness."
This scene leaves us with a multitude of questions. Is Sunny programmed for evil? Was Masa forced to make a terrible choice? Is he the villain the episode title warns us against blaming?
Episode 2 masterfully expands the Sunny universe. It builds upon the initial intrigue while introducing new characters and plot threads. With Suzie and Sunny united against a web of conspiracies, the question remains: Who can they trust?
