The Accident - S01E05 - Confrontation

At the police station, Charro is furious with Alex for his involvement in the drug trade. Alex insists that he is innocent, claiming that Daniela chased him and that he has no evidence against him. Charro is surprised by this information and promises to get Alex out. However, once his parents leave, Santos tries to interrogate Alex, offering him a deal in exchange for information about the drug dealer. Santos suspects that Charro might be involved in the drug trade, revealing that his construction business is likely a front.

Emiliano moves in with Javier, but Brenda is upset that Javier didn't consult with her. She refuses to listen to him, insisting that he give her a child or she will consider surrogacy or sleeping with someone else. Emiliano tries to avoid causing problems, but Javier doesn't let him leave, fearing that he might turn himself in and ruin the deal.

With Carla documenting Paula's "vision," droves of visitors surround the house, upsetting Fabian. Daniela is also upset and asks Carla not to cover Paula's case, but Carla insists that it is her job to report on news and miracles alike. She also notices that Daniela is becoming too invested in Fabian and confronts her sister about the fateful birthday party. Carla is shocked to learn that the other men might be involved as accomplices.

Unable to tolerate the scrutiny, Fabian reports Carla for trespassing and harassment. Santos is not enthusiastic about the case, as he has bigger fish to fry with Charro.

Charro's right-hand man, Peyote, heads back to the hotel to kill David but finds it empty. Housekeeping arrived just in time and helped David escape, who alerts Emiliano and rushes home. David's fabricated story unravels when Carla insists on going to the hospital and the police. She finally realizes that something is wrong and that it has to do with Emiliano.

David gets a call from a colleague informing him that he is representing Fabian in a lawsuit against Carla. David is frustrated, but Carla is more angry with Emiliano and Charro.

Daniela receives a call from a scared Lucia about Charro's threats. She rushes home and believes that Charro is targeting her for arresting Alex. Lucia is upset to learn about Charro's involvement and insists that Alex is innocent. Daniela suspects something is off but Lucia refuses to snitch on her friends. However, she threatens to turn Nico over if they don't help Alex. Nico assures her that Alex will be out, but Lucia doesn't believe him.

While heading to the police station, Nico stops Lucia and blackmails her with their sex tape, which also shows Lucia doing cocaine.

Emiliano informs Daniela about the Charro-David situation, and she is furious that things have gone so far. She tells him to fix things, and he promises to do so. He has a heartfelt farewell with Lucia, who is worried about his safety. Emiliano heads to Charro's place to confront him.

Charro and Lupita head to the town's border, where Charro kicks Lupita out. He reveals that he has a tracker on her and that he caught her on CCTV with the man. Lupita gets scared as he takes her shoes, phone, and wallet, forcing her to undress. He leaves her and tells her to walk home. Before heading home, Charro drops by David's place, threatening to go after the wives if the men continue to hide.

Lupita, walking home, struggles with her emotions, alternating between reciting Bible verses and ranting about Charro's womanizing. When she reaches home, Charro refuses to open the door.

The next morning, Javier calls Daniela to calm her down and points out that accidents happen. She sees through his act and realizes that he is only interested in making sure the deal goes through. However, as she talks it out, she realizes that she doesn't want Charro to murder Emiliano.

Just as Emiliano arrives at Charro's place, he finds a bleeding Lupita sleeping on the steps. Charro comes out and tells Lupita that her son's murderer has arrived. Emiliano tells Charro to stay away from his family, and they attack each other. As Charro pulls out his gun, Daniela shows up and shoots him in the shoulder.

At home, as she patches up Emiliano, Daniela confesses that she wanted to kill him too and that she doesn't know how to process everything that has happened. Emiliano is apologetic but explains that he cannot turn himself in because it would ruin his family's lives as well as David's and Javier's.

Daniela refuses to listen, claiming that nothing can be worse than what they are already going through because of him. Emiliano doesn't understand why she cannot forgive him for an accident and brings up how he forgave her for cheating on him. She is shocked that he would compare the two and realizes his mistakes.

At the end of the episode, Emiliano heads to the police station and confesses everything to Santos, telling the cop to arrest him.
