Monster - S01E03 - Doin' A Dahmer

The tensions within the Dahmer family are palpable. Joyce and Lionel's arguments escalate, and the couple eventually finds themselves embroiled in a custody battle for their younger son, David. The strain of this conflict takes a toll on the entire family, and Jeff, in particular, feels caught in the middle.

Despite the challenges she faces, Joyce eventually finds a sense of purpose. She accepts a job at a clinic that helps women in need, drawing on her own experiences to provide support and guidance.

As Joyce begins to rebuild her life, Jeff's darker tendencies start to emerge. While he may seem like a typical teenager on the surface, his behavior is becoming increasingly erratic. One night, Jeff encounters a hitchhiker named Steven. He invites Steven to his home under the pretense of attending a concert later.

As the evening progresses, Jeff's advances towards Steven are rejected. In a moment of anger and frustration, Jeff accidentally kills Steven. Panic-stricken, he attempts to dispose of the body, but his plans are interrupted by a police officer who witnesses his erratic driving. The officer, smelling alcohol on Jeff's breath, lets him go with a warning, unaware of the horrific crime that has just taken place.

This tragic incident marks a turning point in Jeff's life. It is a glimpse into the darkness that lurks beneath his seemingly ordinary exterior. The episode concludes with a chilling realization: the seeds of evil that would eventually lead to Jeffrey Dahmer's infamous crimes have been sown.
