Early in the morning, Kim was woken up. Jimmy was making breakfast—after eating, he had to rush to a job interview. His first interview was for a sales position at a copier store. While waiting for the manager, a supervisor showed him around, and a "Bavarian Boy" Hummel figurine on the shelf caught his eye. Jimmy remembered this figurine was valuable, yet it was casually placed on the shelf. He was about to take a closer look when the manager arrived; from what the manager said, the items on the shelf would end up in the trash sooner or later—they clearly didn’t know the figurine’s worth.

Jimmy had worked in a law firm’s mailroom for years and was familiar with all types of copiers. Combined with the eloquence he’d honed in court, the manager decided to hire him on the spot. But Jimmy didn’t want the job—trusting a stranger he’d just met because of a few nice words meant this company was unreliable. After leaving the copier store, Jimmy hurried to his next interview.

At home recovering, Kim received a call from Howard: the law firm needed to execute Chuck’s will. Since Jimmy refused to meet with Howard, Kim went to the firm on Jimmy’s behalf. Chuck’s photo was still displayed in the lobby, and Rebecca had already signed the agreement in the office. According to the will, the house was left to Rebecca. Howard asked if Jimmy wanted to take any sentimental items, and Kim immediately said he didn’t want anything. Next was the inheritance share—Chuck had donated a large sum of money to the Youth Opportunity Foundation during his lifetime, so Jimmy would only get $5,000. Additionally, Howard hoped Jimmy would agree to serve on the foundation’s board, but Kim rejected this too. The last thing left was a handwritten letter from Chuck to Jimmy; Howard asked Kim to pass it to Jimmy and insisted he open the envelope himself.

After the inheritance was distributed, Rebecca left. Kim finally couldn’t hold back her anger and confronted Howard: why had he told Jimmy the truth about Chuck’s suicide? It wasn’t enough to make Jimmy know his brother had burned to a crisp in the fire—he also expected Jimmy to pick out mementos from the place where his brother’s ashes floated, and to work at a foundation where his brother would never have given him a grant. She also questioned what Chuck could have written in the letter. Howard had no answer to any of these questions. Kim didn’t need him to make amends—she alone would protect Jimmy.

That night, Jimmy returned home with Thai food to share with Kim. Kim didn’t tell him what had happened at the firm that day, nor did she take out Chuck’s letter—Jimmy didn’t need to endure any more pain. Late at night, after Kim fell into a deep sleep, Jimmy secretly searched the internet for the price of Hummel figurines. When he saw they sold for over $8,000, another bad idea popped into his head.

Gustavo hadn’t relaxed his surveillance of Hector just because he was unconscious; he’d even sent someone to secretly conduct a thorough check of Hector’s condition to prevent him from faking it. The surveillance team reported daily on what happened in the hospital room, including who visited and which doctor came for check-ups. Recently, the hospital had assigned Dr. Maureen as Hector’s new attending physician, who used a new treatment to promote the brain’s self-repair. Gustavo demanded daily access to Hector’s test results.

Lydia called again, clearly annoyed by Mike’s unauthorized actions. She had just met with Mike—instead of agreeing to her request to lay low, Mike had stated he would also inspect several other Madrigal subsidiaries. Only this way, he argued, would his role as a security consultant be convincing and avoid suspicion. Gustavo, however, trusted Mike’s abilities. Since Mike was so enthusiastic, Gustavo suggested Lydia get him an official employee ID.

After dealing with Lydia’s issue, Gustavo turned his thoughts to how to handle the Salamanca family. Hector was lying in bed, unable even to open his eyes, and his nephews were no threat. But seizing their territory directly would inevitably lead to a war—and that wasn’t Gustavo’s style.

That night, Nacho and Cisco arrived at the fried chicken restaurant’s warehouse to pick up the Salamanca family’s share of drugs, only to find it had been reduced from six packs to five. Cisco only knew how to argue loudly, but Nacho didn’t want to waste words—he pulled out a gun and cocked it. He had just walked out of the warehouse with six packs of drugs when a group of men attacked from behind. Cisco’s head was covered with a plastic bag, and he was suffocated to death. Nacho was forced to his knees at gunpoint. Gustavo stepped out of the shadows—he knew what Nacho had done, and he knew about the poisoned capsules. If Nacho didn’t want the Salamancas to find out, he would have to obey Gustavo from then on.
