Episode 13: "Erase Weary Youth"

  Plot Summary

The episode opens with a dramatic courtroom scene: Olivia, a Russian spy, is on the verge of striking a deal to expose another operative—until her lawyer, Maria, kills her in a fit of rage. The murder is witnessed by court officers, and Maria is fatally shot. The FBI is immediately suspected of harboring a mole, and Director Mayfair orders Kurt Weller to find the traitor.

Complicating matters, Russian intelligence is revealed to be operating from within the Russian Embassy. With tensions high, Agent Fisher arrives to investigate, subjecting all agents to lie detector tests and confining them to headquarters. Reed, fearing his secret relationship with Sarah will be exposed, confesses to Weller during his polygraph. Meanwhile, Sapat’s hidden bug is discovered, forcing her to reveal how Tom coerced her into investigating Jane. Mayfair, Jane, and Sapat are all suspected due to their secrets.

Weller, desperate to clear Jane’s name, enlists CIA operative Kara to interrogate Roman, a driver for three high-ranking Russian Embassy officials. Roman initially resists but cracks when Weller stages a photo threat, admitting that a man named Slava mentioned an inside informant. Fisher, however, zeroes in on the night Jane was kidnapped, accusing her of killing Tom and naming her the mole.

Weller, frantic to prove Jane’s innocence, prematurely reveals Roman’s tip to Fisher—backfiring when Roman falsely claims Jane is the spy. Discredited and furious, Weller confronts Roman, only to discover his clothing bears the same insignia as Fisher’s. Realizing Roman was bribed, Weller extracts a confession: Fisher is the double agent.

Before Weller can act, Fisher attempts to have Jane imprisoned. Jane, realizing Weller is blocked out, fights off her captors, steals an access card, and lets Weller in. Fisher flees but is shot dead by Jane. With the mole exposed, Weller confronts Reed about his relationship with Sarah, ordering him to end it. Later, Weller warns Sarah to break things off, unable to protect everyone he cares about.

Episode 14: "Rules in Defiance"

  Plot Summary

Sapat, furious about being spied on, demands answers from Prosecutor Assistant Matthew, who reveals the FBI’s surveillance was triggered by her gambling broker, Randall’s, arrest. Matthew’s true interest, however, lies in uncovering Mayfair’s collaboration with Tom.

Patterson deciphers a tattoo clue involving a lion and bull, leading the team to a Queens street—but their arrival alerts NYPD to a monitored criminal hideout, ruining a bust. Undeterred, Weller notices a mural honoring Paloma, a woman murdered seven years ago by her boyfriend, Ronnie, who awaits execution. A mysterious email hinted at reopening the case, and Weller believes it’s tied to the tattoo.

Ronnie, long claiming innocence, suddenly confesses to the murder. But Patterson discovers his sister’s home was torched two weeks prior, and key witness Timothy disappeared from court. Interrogating Timothy, they learn he was threatened with job loss by ICE supervisor Scott, who warned him not to testify.

Patterson digs deeper, finding Scott falsified Paloma’s detention papers, altering her birth date by a century. Further investigation reveals Scott marked over a hundred women for trafficking. The FBI’s new mission: dismantle the trafficking ring.

With no time for subtlety, Sapat volunteers as bait, posing as a victim named Maria. Patterson outfits her with a tracker, but Sapat is drugged and abducted mid-journey. Tracking signals suggest she boarded a bus, but she’s actually kidnapped by Camila.

When Sapat’s disappearance goes unnoticed, Weller and Patterson follow the tracker to a remote location. Sapat, held in a trafficking den, learns women are exploited for clients’ pleasure. When Camila discovers her secret, Sapat exposes herself to save others, leading to a fiery showdown.

Weller and the team storm the hideout, rescuing the women. Sapat, trapped in the basement, is freed by Weller and Reid. Camila’s testimony and Patterson’s evidence lead to Scott’s arrest on over a hundred counts of trafficking. Ronnie’s execution is stayed, and he’ll be released in a week.
