Picking up from the previous part, in Season 4 of Servant, Dorothy, who has suffered a heavy blow, returns home, and Sean, Julian, and Leanne all have to take care of her together.

Dorothy's movement is confined to the bed, but she still strongly rejects Leanne and refuses her care.

Leanne, on the other hand, shows great magnanimity and is willing to wholeheartedly take care of Dorothy and Jericho.

Outside the house, the believers of the Little Saint's Church gather, intending to take action against Leanne.

The initial story of Servant is just a horror story about distorted psychology. Philadelphia news reporter Dorothy Turner forgot her 13-week-old baby Jericho in the car, resulting in the child's death. To eliminate her inner guilt and resistance, her husband Sean, a famous chef, uses an ultra-realistic "newborn" doll to comfort Dorothy, and even hires a nanny, Leanne, to take care of the fake baby. This grief-stricken mother gets a second chance, but at the same time falls into a deeper surreal chaos.

As the story develops, the focus of Servant gradually shifts to Leanne, and a strong religious worship of her develops.

It is not until Season 4 that it is clearly stated that Leanne has supernatural abilities, and the source of these abilities is also explained. Eventually, the entire story ends with religious supernatural forces.

  M. Night Shyamalan and his team skillfully use these supernatural elements.

There are countless connections between Leanne and her neurotic mother, as well as between Leanne and the believers of the Little Saint's Church, with Leanne becoming the focus of all conflicts.

Everyone watches Leanne's every move, unknowingly entering a fascinating battle of wits.

Season 4, as the final season of the entire series, will 揭开 all the mysteries and lead everyone to a catastrophic ending.

After Leanne begins to realize her influence in this family, she slowly unleashes the terrifying potential of this character.

Servant has a unique visual language. There are a lot of sharp lines and close-up shots in the play. Even the common stairs and exterior walls of buildings look threatening.

Through asymmetric framing and disturbing camera rotations and defocusing, we lose our balance just like the characters.

Tension gradually fills both indoor and outdoor spaces, and all characters become more and more sensitive.

The Turner house looks beautiful on the surface, but it traps everyone, forcing them to constantly conflict with each other, and the house is gradually eroded from the basement and walls.

Season 3 mainly focuses on Dorothy and Leanne competing for control of Jericho, a silent battle of wills, which eventually leads to Dorothy's mental breakdown.

After the start of Season 4, Leanne successfully controls everything about the bedridden Dorothy, including when she eats and when she can see her son. On the surface, it seems that Leanne has won, but it also makes her appear more evil.

The final moments of Servant are full of emotion. In the impactful visual effects, everything settles, but it leaves the audience with a lingering sense of unease.

Mysterious cults, exploration of life and death, research on the impact of trauma, interesting food, and endless exploration of psychological mysteries—all these wonderful journeys end here.

Servant is a TV series about belief. The logic in the play depends on which kind of logic the audience believes in.

Explaining it with supernatural forces is the simplest way. Of course, the audience can also firmly stand on the side of atheism, explain the phenomena in the play with coincidences and science, and regard this drama as a TV series about family life horror and the daily sorrows of parenthood.

I quite approve of the ending of this drama, which is very much in line with M. Night Shyamalan's style, featuring the exploration of psychological and supernatural themes.

The drama constantly creates suspense and unexpected endings, uses tense plots to attract the audience's attention, and teases the audience's nerves with suggestive techniques.
