Rick drove a car with several of Glenn’s companions to leave the city, while Glenn followed closely behind alone in a red sports car. Merle, trapped on the rooftop and unable to escape, watched in panic as a few walkers approached the rooftop entrance, trying to break in. He lay on the ground, frantically searching for a weapon to break the handcuffs.
At the camp, Dale was on duty when he spotted a red sports car speeding down the mountain road in the distance. The car blared its loud alarm as it roared into the camp, startling everyone there. Shane hurried over and reminded Glenn to cut the alarm wire—otherwise, it would attract walkers.
Shortly after Glenn returned to the camp, Rick arrived in another car. Lori and their son Carl looked at Rick in sheer surprise, and the three hugged tightly amid the envious gazes of the others.
As night fell, Rick sat by the campfire and told everyone about his escape experience. After the walker apocalypse broke out, he had ventured into the city and barely escaped death; luckily, Glenn had appeared and saved him.
That night, Rick, his wife, and their son went into a tent to rest. Carl fell fast asleep soon after getting into bed. Rick lay down beside his wife Lori, and the two held each other tightly, sharing an intimate moment.
Shane sat on a chair, staring at the dark tent where Rick and Lori had fallen asleep. Seeing Rick survive the disaster and reunite with his wife and son, Shane’s expression was complicated, filled with mixed emotions.
The next morning, someone at the camp spotted a lone walker. Several strong men joined forces to kill it. When Daryl returned to the camp and learned that his brother Merle’s fate was unknown, he flew into a rage and nearly got into a fight with Rick. Sensing trouble, Shane rushed over and held Daryl tightly to stop him. Still seething with anger, Daryl decided to go back to the city to rescue his brother Merle.
By then, Merle was already missing. When Daryl returned to the city and went to the rooftop, all he found was a severed hand.
Shane tried to talk to Lori by the river, but Lori, now reunited with Rick, no longer wanted to be close to him. Shane, simmering with anger, got into an argument with her. Lori accused Shane of lying to her earlier, claiming that Rick was dead.
After the fight with Lori, Shane took his frustration out on Ed. Ed often abused his wife Carol, so Shane unleashed all his anger on him—beating Ed until his face was black and blue, and he was covered in blood. Carol panicked and tried to stop Shane from continuing the assault, but he stormed off, still furious. Ed lay on the ground, motionless, severely injured.
