Several male prisoners who had survived were detained in the prison. Rick led his team out of the cell block, and the prisoners followed them all the way to the prison yard. Rick told the prisoners about the outbreak of the walker apocalypse and how the world had descended into chaos. Shocked by the news, the prisoners decided to stay in the prison.

Rick drew a line with the prisoners, agreeing that each side would take half of the prison. The two groups formed a "walker-clearing alliance" and ventured deep into the prison’s interior. The prisoners led Rick’s team to a storage room; Rick decided to split the food evenly with them. Since the prisoners had shown them where the food was, Rick followed their agreement to help the prisoners clear the walkers from their half of the prison.

During the walker-clearing operation, a tall Black prisoner was bitten. One of the prisoners—who seemed to be their leader—shot and killed the walker that had bitten him. Rick noticed how casually the leader had killed, and a sense of wariness gradually grew in his mind.

Even though he had been bitten, the tall Black prisoner remained optimistic, insisting he would be fine. Before Rick could figure out how to handle the situation, the leader grabbed a baseball bat and delivered a heavy blow to the tall prisoner’s head. Caught off guard, the tall prisoner fell to the ground. In front of Rick, the leader swung the bat repeatedly at the man’s head; his skull cracked, and he died instantly. Rick’s wariness of the leader deepened, and Daryl also got ready to help Rick take the leader down if needed.

The group opened a door, only to be met by a horde of walkers pouring into the room, forcing them into a fierce fight. During the battle, the leader deliberately shoved a walker toward Rick. Rick was pinned to the ground by the walker and nearly bitten. After a brutal struggle, the group finally eliminated all the walkers. Rick stood up, furious at the leader for intentionally pushing the walker at him. The leader feigned innocence, claiming he hadn’t done it on purpose. Rick fell silent for a moment, then suddenly swung his knife and killed the leader.

Seeing the danger, the remaining three prisoners turned their weapons on Rick’s group, creating a standoff. One of the prisoners fled the room; Rick chased him all the way to a enclosed courtyard. Trapped with nowhere to run, the prisoner was surrounded by several walkers. Rick closed the courtyard’s entrance door, leaving the prisoner to fend for himself.

Rick took the two remaining prisoners to their assigned half of the prison. The two prisoners complained that Rick had treated them unfairly, but Daryl warned them to be content and grateful for what they had.

Hershel had been unconscious ever since his amputation. The group stood by his bed patiently, taking care of him. Slowly, Hershel opened his eyes, glanced at everyone, then closed them again and fell back asleep.
