The sun shone brightly and the sky was clear. A helicopter, billowing thick smoke, plummeted from the sky into a forest. Standing outside the woods, Michonne and Andrea witnessed the entire crash of the helicopter.
There was no hope for the pilots on board to survive—one of them had been cut in half at the waist by the sharp propeller. Michonne tied two walkers to a tree, intending to carefully check if there were any survivors left on the helicopter. Suddenly, the sound of a car engine came from not far away. Michonne turned her head and saw two cars approaching the forest from a distance.
These suddenly appearing fellow humans might well be a group of ruthless gangsters. Michonne left the helicopter and returned to Andrea's side. Under the gaze of the two women, the Governor, along with several of his men, arrived at the helicopter crash site by car. The pilot who had been dismembered on the ground had turned into a walker and was thrashing about. The Governor pulled out his pistol and shot the walker dead with a single bullet.
Several other men used different weapons to kill the surrounding walkers. Fearing that they would be discovered by the Governor's group, Michonne swung her sword and killed the two walkers that had accompanied her for days. Soon after the two walkers fell to the ground, Merle appeared from behind and captured Andrea and Michonne.
A few months earlier, Merle had been on the verge of death after cutting off his own wrist on a rooftop, and the Governor had saved him. The Governor had built a sanctuary in a neighborhood. Merle took Michonne and Andrea back to the sanctuary, where Andrea told Merle about how she had become separated from her teammates. However, Merle still held a grudge against Rick.
One soldier had survived the helicopter crash, and several of his companions were not far from the sanctuary. The Governor left the sanctuary with his men to find the soldier's companions. The companions, thinking the Governor was a good person, let their guard down and were killed by him.
The Governor returned to the sanctuary with his men in military vehicles, and the residents hailed him as a hero. The hypocritical Governor lied to the residents, claiming that all of the soldier's companions had been killed.
Andrea developed a favorable impression of the Governor and wanted to stay and live in the sanctuary. However, Michonne, who was extremely vigilant, persuaded Andrea not to take up long-term residence there.
After having sex with a woman, the Governor went to sit in a small room. The room was filled with glass water tanks, each containing numerous walker heads—and the top one was the head of the injured soldier the Governor had saved not long before.
All the heads, still showing signs of life, blinked their eyes as they looked at the Governor. The Governor sat on the sofa, staring at the walker heads in the tanks with a somber expression.
