In a small town from the 1950s, a newlywed couple, Wanda and Vision, arrived. Wanda was a witch with magical powers, while Vision was a half-human, half-computer robot. This unusual pair didn’t want the townsfolk to discover the truth and cause unnecessary panic, so they had to pretend to be an utterly ordinary couple.
On their very first day, something strange happened: Wanda and Vision couldn’t recall why there was a heart drawn on today’s date on the calendar. Vision’s brain was capable of remembering everything he had ever seen, yet he found no relevant records. The two could only assume that the heart was drawn to celebrate their first day as newlyweds.
Vision transformed his metallic head into a normal human appearance and hurried off to work. Alone at home, Wanda welcomed her first guest—Agnes, the neighbor next door. Agnes was extremely friendly and hit it off with Wanda right away. She kindly gave Wanda advice on how to spend a romantic wedding night. Wanda learned a great deal and felt confident about the evening ahead when she received a call from her husband at work.

Vision couldn’t quite explain what the company he worked for actually did. All he knew was that since he started working there, the company’s output had tripled thanks to his extraordinary computational abilities. His boss, Mr. Hart, specifically reminded him not to forget about the evening’s plans. It suddenly dawned on Vision: the heart on the calendar was an abbreviation of Mr. Hart’s surname. The boss and his wife were coming to their home for a visit.
Hearing his wife’s confident tone on the phone, Vision felt somewhat relieved. However, when he returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Hart, he found the house pitch dark, illuminated only by a few candles. Wanda, wearing a seductive nightgown, playfully covered Mr. Hart’s eyes from behind. When Vision turned on the lights, the atmosphere became incredibly awkward. Thinking quickly, Vision explained it away as a traditional Sokovian greeting from Europe.

Fortunately, the Hart couple didn’t seem suspicious, but Wanda faced another dilemma. Vision, being a robot, didn’t need to eat. She herself, being a witch, also didn’t require food. There was no food in the house, and even the most skilled homemaker couldn’t prepare a meal without ingredients. Luckily, the helpful Agnes arrived just in time with plenty of groceries. Using her magic, Wanda managed to prepare a decent spread of breakfast dishes.

Serving breakfast for dinner might have been a Sokovian custom, and Mr. Hart didn’t seem to mind too much. He casually asked the young couple when they had gotten married and where they had moved from. Such simple questions left Wanda and Vision stunned, unsure how to respond. Growing impatient, Mr. Hart pressed them for answers. Just then, a piece of cake got stuck in his throat, causing him to choke and collapse, conveniently interrupting the uncomfortable situation. With Wanda’s permission, Vision retrieved the cake from Mr. Hart’s throat. Mr. Hart immediately stood up as if nothing had happened and, along with his wife, praised Wanda’s cooking. Before leaving, he even invited Vision to discuss a promotion at the office next Monday.

After seeing the Harts off, Wanda and Vision sat exhausted on the sofa. It seemed that ordinary life wasn’t so easy after all. To avoid raising suspicions, they needed to make more thorough preparations, such as conjuring wedding rings. However, every move Wanda made in this "small town" was closely monitored by S.W.O.R.D. to prevent any disruptions that could lead to a crisis in the real world.
