In 1693, Agnes’s full name was revealed to be Agatha Harkness. She, too, was a witch, but she was punished by the witch coven for practicing dark magic. Her mother led the other witches in disciplining her, but strangely, all their powers were absorbed by Agatha, who turned everyone into desiccated corpses—including her own mother. Wanda, faced with this unfamiliar yet eerily familiar version of Agnes, felt uncertain, but her magic seemed completely ineffective in this basement.
Wanda’s two sons were missing, and her brother, who should have been dead, was also Agatha’s creation. Lost in her own confusion, Wanda had never realized this. Now, she had no means to resist—in this basement, only Agatha could use magic. Agatha was powerful, but she couldn’t do what Wanda had done: control the entire town of Westview and make it operate autonomously. She wanted to learn this ability from Wanda.

But even Wanda herself didn’t know how she had done it. So, Agatha took Wanda back to the very beginning. Wanda saw her parents and brother again, and she reverted to her childhood self. She didn’t resist; she wanted to save her sons and understand what had truly happened. In her memory, that night, Wanda and her family were happily gathered at home when a bomb destroyed everything. Wanda and her brother were trapped near the bomb, but instead of exploding, it was deactivated by Wanda. Agatha abruptly pulled her back to reality, desperate to know how Wanda had done it. Even Wanda herself didn’t know what had awakened her power.

So, they journeyed to Wanda’s adolescence, a time when she joined an underground organization for revenge and became a test subject. In the laboratory, a gem actively chose Wanda. The others had no idea what had happened to her inside—they could only place the unconscious Wanda in an isolation room. It was this event that granted Wanda the energy within the gem.
Next, Agatha followed Wanda to another point in time: her days with the Avengers, in the first home she shared with Vision. After losing her brother, it was Vision who stayed by her side. But later, Vision also died, and Wanda fell into despair once again. Agatha provoked Wanda, urging her to repeat her past choices.

Wanda indeed fell into the trap, just as she had back then. She went to S.W.O.R.D., demanding Vision’s body, but Director Hayward refused. Enraged, Wanda broke into S.W.O.R.D. and discovered they were dismantling Vision to turn him into a sentient weapon. She was powerless to stop it.
After leaving S.W.O.R.D., Wanda returned to Westview. On an empty plot of land, she released her grief, and the energy within her went out of control. A house materialized, and unconsciously, she enveloped the entire town. From within her, Vision also manifested. All of this was what Wanda desired most deeply, so when it appeared before her, she didn’t question it.
It was at this moment that Agatha appeared and witnessed the entire process. She finally understood how Wanda had done it, but she was dissatisfied. Wanda possessed the power to control everything, yet she was wasting it here. Agatha kidnapped Wanda’s two sons. Although this was a world and characters created by Wanda, it symbolized that she had become the Scarlet Witch, wielding immense chaos magic.
