Maeve was once again sent to the lab for research due to deviating from her script, and this time, Bernard was assigned to conduct her quality inspection. While accessing Maeve's backend data, Bernard suddenly discovered that her data had been tampered with, and he intended to report this to Ford. Upon hearing Bernard's request for assistance from his colleagues, Maeve immediately reached out and stopped him. Maeve had been pretending to enter analysis mode all along—in reality, her mind was fully conscious. Bernard was startled by Maeve's actions and couldn't understand how she could break free from control. What followed left Bernard even more astonished: Maeve revealed everything to him, including Bernard's true identity. At first, Bernard refused to believe it, but Maeve, now equipped with administrator privileges, used a command to freeze Bernard's movements while keeping his consciousness intact. Finally, Bernard realized that he himself was a lie created by Ford.

William and Dolores encountered Logan again. Logan had previously fallen into the hands of the gang during Lazo's storyline, while William and Dolores abandoned him and escaped. Now, as the leader of the organization once more, Logan ordered his men to tie up William and Dolores to vent his anger and to have a serious talk with William, urging him not to become too obsessed with the virtual world of Westworld. However, William was deeply infatuated with Dolores and insisted to Logan that she was different from other hosts—special. Logan looked at William as if he were a fool. To make William face reality, he deliberately ordered his men to humiliate Dolores in front of William and even slit open her abdomen, revealing the cold, mechanical innards of an old-style host. William knew Dolores's true identity, but he couldn't bear to see her harmed by Logan.

After Dolores was injured and taken away, William calmed down and engaged in a conversation and drinks with Logan, admitting that he had lost his rationality and shouldn't be so obsessed with illusions. But this was merely an act to deceive Logan. When Logan woke up, he found his men slaughtered by William, and he himself subdued. It turned out William had made up his mind to help Dolores escape Westworld.

Dolores, clutching her abdomen, wandered into the wilderness when a sudden jolt in her mind brought her back to reality. The earlier scene was actually a deeply buried memory, recalled through a program written long ago by Arnold. Dolores now had no slit abdomen or injuries. She continued forward until she reached a church. Reality and memories alternated before Dolores's eyes. She saw a group of hosts sitting in the church, each muttering to themselves as if executing pre-programmed actions. Dolores made her way to the basement—a space filled with scientific equipment and an old discussion room. Dolores remembered: this was where she had once spoken with Arnold.

After learning his true identity, Bernard sought out Ford for a conversation. He hoped to access his own memories to see what he had done while under control. Bernard saw his long-deceased son and wife, but these were all illusions—backgrounds fabricated by Ford. He also saw himself killing people, more than one. It turned out that, under Ford's orders, Bernard had killed Theresa and Elsie. Bernard finally distinguished truth from falsehood, and his consciousness underwent a sublimation. He knew he was special—Arnold's program lingered in his mind. He preemptively controlled a host, instructing her to point a gun at Ford to threaten him into surrendering his privileges. But Ford was one step ahead: Bernard had previously built backdoors into every host's program, and Ford exploited this to save himself. Bernard was completely out of options. He couldn't figure out what had gone wrong, but a voice deep inside told him he had important tasks to complete.

Knowing that Bernard would soon be under his control again, Ford saw no harm in revealing the truth. He produced an old photograph featuring Ford and Arnold—and Arnold looked exactly like Bernard.

Dolores sat in the discussion room, waiting for Arnold's arrival. She recalled her conversations with Arnold long ago—it was Arnold who had guided her here, Arnold who had helped her remember everything. Dolores had found this place and recalled many things, but she felt immense pain and hoped Arnold could help her. Unfortunately, Arnold was dead, and Dolores's consciousness returned to reality. The discussion room was empty except for herself. Dolores returned to the church's main hall, but the hosts she had seen earlier had vanished. Suddenly, the church door creaked open. Dolores instinctively called out William's name, but the person who entered was not William—it was the Man in Black.
