Geek Girl Gets Tangled Up in Episode 3

Episode 3 of Geek Girl throws Harriet headfirst into the world of modeling, but with a few unexpected twists and turns.

The episode opens with Harriet fully embracing her newfound modeling aspirations. She practices poses in the mirror, determined to make a good impression at her upcoming meeting with Infinity Models. Nervous excitement bubbles over as she prepares her outfit, clashing with her stepmother Annabel's more practical suggestions.

Meanwhile, her father, distracted by the upcoming agency visit, neglects a work call. As they arrive at Infinity, Nat, Harriet's best friend, is also there with her mother, both eager for their shot at modeling glory.

Disaster strikes when Harriet, in a moment of rebellion, reveals her hidden costume underneath her dad's trench coat – a full spider outfit leftover from Halloween. Mortified, she bumps into Nick Park, the model she met at London Fashion Week. Surprisingly, Nick remains unfazed and even offers some posing advice, encouraging her to "own it".

Inside the agency, the sight of Harriet and Nick together raises eyebrows, especially from her bewildered father. Wilbur, the agent, makes his pitch, eager to sign Harriet. However, Annabel throws a wrench into the plans, concerned about the potential clash with schoolwork. She firmly rejects the offer, leaving Harriet and Wilbur crestfallen.

On their journey home, Harriet and Nat strategize ways to change Annabel's mind. Meanwhile, Nick's "fake romance" with model Poppy takes an unexpected turn. Fed up with the charade, Nick expresses his desire to end things. Poppy, stung by his rejection, lashes out and claims he's boring. Despite the negativity, they awkwardly agree to end the sham relationship but not before Poppy captures a fake "hug" photo for her Instagram.

Back at school, reality sets in for Harriet. She grapples with the bullying from Lexi and the seemingly insurmountable hurdle of Annabel's disapproval. Undeterred, she teams up with Nat in textiles class, hoping to concoct a plan during Harriet's father's upcoming birthday party.

Their attempt at persuasion during the party backfires spectacularly. Harriet's speech about balancing school with dreams falls flat, leaving her father confused and Annabel annoyed at the disrupted party. Just as Nat believes all hope is lost, Harriet emerges with a newfound determination. Declaring her intention to attend the Infinity casting regardless of Annabel's consent, she invites Nat to join her, setting the stage for a potential showdown in the next episode.
