Fallen - S01E06 - In Search of An Exit

Underground, Luce briefly remembers a motorcycle ride with Daniel before being reunited with Dr. Howson and Ms. Sophia Miriam. Daniel's critical condition necessitates immediate medical attention, and Luce, apprehensive about Howson's involvement, reluctantly agrees to his care.

Arriane and Penn, locked in a meeting room, engage in a conversation about Penn's new behavior and medication. Arriane, recognizing the medication, advises Penn against taking it.

In the chapel, Luce discovers Cassie's lifeless body with strange markings. Cam, while admitting his miraculous recoveries from near-death experiences, reveals that he has never returned from the dead like Cassie.

Howson and Daniel's footage reveals shard wounds from an Outcast attack, causing a life-threatening infection. Luce informs the others about Daniel's condition, sparking discussions about the Outcast's telepathic and shapeshifting abilities.

Howson successfully stops the infection's spread, but Daniel experiences a memory of a different life he and Luce shared. Cassie explains the Outcasts' origins and their relentless pursuit of return. Cam and Molly initially dismiss her explanation, but Roland's knowledge of the Outcast's weapons and abilities adds weight to her claims.

Howson's successful purging of the remaining pathogens from Daniel's body triggers more memories of his and Luce's other life, including an argument about being followed.

When the power grid goes offline, Arriane suffers a panic attack and leaves the room. Penn follows her, leaving behind her medication. The security team prepares to relocate the residents to the archives, but Sophia's pleas for help are dismissed.

As the residents make their way to the archives, Luce reveals her discovery of a clone in Howson's underground lab. Cassie overhears their discussion and tells Luce to speak with Daniel. The group is interrupted by an Outcast attack, but they manage to reach the archives.

Despite the well-stocked armory, the residents lack access. They reminisce about their belongings, but Luce's impatience grows. Cam reveals a deal with Howson, assuring Luce he would never harm her. A tremor or vibration disrupts their moment of peace.

Daniel's condition worsens, and Howson's attempts to revive him are unsuccessful. As Howson continues his efforts, he remembers the motorcycle accident that took Luce's life, revealing the SUV's transformation into a flock of ravens.

Luce's group reaches the cafeteria and is contacted by Ms. Miriam, who orders them to stay. However, Luce senses the Outcast's presence and decides to sacrifice herself.

Luce meets the Outcast, disguised as Daniel, at the intersection. She suspects the deception and, through a brief conversation, learns that the creatures cannot return home without her. Miriam arrives and shoots the Outcast with a special ordinance.

Howson declares Daniel dead, and his memory reveals his involvement in the motorcycle accident and his promise to take care of Daniel. Daniel, shown in Howson's office, expresses his despair and asks to see Luce's body. As he does so, Luce, in the present timeline, kisses him, bringing him back to life. He apologizes cryptically and tells her he cannot love her.

The episode concludes with Penn reviewing the security footage from the night of the campfire, discovering the truth about her father's survival.
