Meanwhile, Carla and Yola are stunned to learn that Moncho is dead. Barroso, the mysterious lawyer, is paid off and disappears from the city. The police investigate his identity, discovering that his real name is Eulogio Pinto Rosales, but that's all they can find. This makes everyone at Moncho's birthday party a potential suspect.

Except for Emiliano, everyone seems relieved that Moncho is dead. However, Santos believes that Emiliano is hiding something, making him the prime suspect. Alex tries to convince Lucia to stop taking drugs, but she refuses, wanting to forget everything. Despite their growing attraction, Lucia's rebellious nature and Alex's controlling tendencies create tension in their relationship.

Charro, elated that Moncho is dead, is unaware that he didn't order the hit. Lupita, while happy that her son has been avenged, struggles to move on. She continues to visit his grave and sleep in his room, which annoys Charro. When he attempts to force himself on her, Alex intervenes, further infuriating Charro. Alex blames Charro for Gabito's death, forcing them to move to Santa Cruz. To distract Charro, Lupita kisses him and takes him away.

Fabian and Daniela are relieved to hear that Paula will survive. Paula asks about Rodrigo, and Emiliano promises to visit her soon. When she returns home, she is bombarded by the press, who are curious about her experience. She claims to have seen the Virgin Mary, surprising Fabian. Upon seeing her iPad, Paula breaks down in tears, realizing that her friends are dead.

Lucia cannot understand why Emiliano is mourning Moncho, believing that he deserves to suffer for killing children. David is curious about the murder and even questions Emiliano about his involvement, but Emiliano denies any wrongdoing. Yola confronts the Lobos family, blaming them for destroying her family and singling out Daniela in front of her friends. This makes Lucia suspicious of Yola and her insistence that Emiliano killed Moncho. Mauricio and Charro also wonder about Moncho's murder, discovering that Horacio was Mauricio's contact. Moncho's funeral is a somber affair, attended only by Emiliano and David. Yola is furious, threatening to expose Emiliano if he doesn't keep his promise to send her and her kids to the United States. Meanwhile, David notices Lupita visiting Gabito's grave and offers her comfort. He notices the bruise on her face and reassures her that he would never hurt her.

At the firm, the investors transfer the first 5 million euros, exciting Javier. However, Emiliano, overwhelmed by recent events, wants to back out of the deal. Javier is confused and angry, leading to a heated argument. Emiliano accuses Javier of being cold-hearted, further straining their relationship.

Seeking solace, Emiliano visits a church. The priest tells him that the truth will set him free. In a climactic moment at the end of the episode, Emiliano confesses everything to Daniela.
