The episode begins with a shocking explosion that destroys the home of Cheong-ha and her grandmother. Pan-ho, a witness to the event, desperately tries to save them but is tragically unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the board of directors at Woo One is thrown into chaos, grappling with the implications of the incident. Gang-heon, the father of the deceased boy, steps in to assert his authority, indicating that he will personally handle the situation.

At the scene of the explosion, Detective Jang Chae-rim is tasked with investigating the tragic event. Cheong-ha's brother arrives, devastated by the loss of his loved ones. Gang-heon, consumed by grief, visits the site of his son's death, where he learns about the fire at Sang-taek's house. He signals to his secretary, suggesting a potential connection.

Yi-hwan, convinced of Gang-heon's involvement in the explosion, meets with Pan-ho. While Pan-ho is primarily concerned about Sang-taek's reaction, Yi-hwan remains steadfast in his belief that Gang-heon orchestrated the tragedy. Meanwhile, Sang-hyuk, determined to uncover the truth, confronts one of Gang-heon's men, accusing him of ties to the Boodu Gang. He demands a connection to one of their members, which leads to a meeting with Gang-heon's secretary.

A pivotal scene unfolds as Yi-hwan, Jo Mi-yeon, and Jeong discuss their next move. Yi-hwan reveals that Pan-ho is responsible for the explosion, suggesting a bold and potentially risky strategy. Mi-yeon, initially hesitant, agrees to help cover up the accident, recognizing the power of the Boodu Gang and the potential consequences for a judge like Pan-ho. However, she secretly records the meeting, hinting at a hidden agenda.

At the hospital, Cheong-gang's failure to identify his grandmother and sister's bodies hinders the investigation. Back home, Sang-hyuk confronts Gang-heon, only to receive a brutal beating. Gang-heon warns him to stay out of the investigation and leave the country. Meanwhile, Lee Sang-taek, unaware of the recent events, watches a news report about the fire.

Pan-ho receives anonymous text messages, taunting him about his involvement in the explosion. The anonymous caller threatens to expose his crime, leaving him shaken and uncertain. Ho-young, on the other hand, meets with Kim Eun, suggesting a preexisting relationship.

In a dimly lit street, a drug dealer sells his wares to two men. Sang-hyuk approaches him, offering a bag of money in exchange for a gun. Gang-heon and his secretary discuss the possibility of Sang-taek being the killer, but the emergency phone call reveals that the culprit has asthma. The secretary points out the sound of a car's flat tire alarm in the recording, leading them to investigate auto repair shops.

Cheong-gang, devastated by the loss of his family, seeks help from the Boodu Gang. They allow him to speak with Sang-taek, who assures him that he will handle the situation. However, Sang-taek's true intentions are revealed when he manipulates Mi-yeon, threatening to expose her involvement to Gang-heon. Jo Bin, the drug dealer, alerts Sang-hyuk to Sang-taek's meeting with Mi-yeon, providing him with an opportunity to intervene.

Pan-ho, haunted by guilt, struggles to sleep. The anonymous caller continues to torment him, demanding a payment for his silence. Yi-hwan, receiving a bag of money from Pan-ho, agrees to transfer it to Sang-taek's account.

Gang-heon's investigation takes a significant step forward as the auto repair shop identifies Pan-ho's face. Sang-taek, receiving the payment, meets with Mi-yeon at a pier, but his plans are interrupted by Sang-hyuk, who arrives with a deadly surprise.

Eun visits Sang-hyeon's resting place, where she encounters Ho-young. Gang-heon and his secretary, using the information from the warehouse worker, narrow down their search for Pan-ho.

Cheong-gang, brought to the pier by the Boodu Gang, finds himself trapped in a deadly situation. Sang-taek, realizing the gang's true intentions, sacrifices himself to save Cheong-gang. A fierce gunfight ensues, resulting in the deaths of the gang members.

Pan-ho, tormented by the anonymous caller, finally picks up the phone. The caller reveals that they witnessed the car accident on the day of Gang-heon's son's death, setting the stage for a shocking revelation in the next episode.
