FBI: International Season 4 Episode 8: Youll Never See It Coming - Justice in Jeopardy

In the eighth episode of the fourth season of "FBI: International," titled "You'll Never See It Coming," the Fly Team faces a high-stakes mission that intertwines personal vendettas with professional duty. The episode unfolds in Hungary, where the team must navigate a complex web of deceit and betrayal to bring down Greg Csonka, a dangerous criminal with a personal history with Wes Mitchell.

The episode begins with the shocking murder of a protected witness, Vilmos Barany, in prison. Unbeknownst to Vilmos, a corrupt guard had been bribed by Csonka to facilitate the murder. The guard tricked Vilmos into a nearly empty room, where Csonka brutally beat him to death. Csonka then orchestrated a cover-up by bribing three Romanians to take the fall for the murder, intending to walk free with the prosecution's key witness eliminated.

Csonka's actions were particularly poignant for Wes, as he was responsible for the death of Wes's partner, Mike Brooks. Mike, a married father of two young daughters, was killed by Csonka, leaving his family devastated. Wes was determined to bring justice for his friend and agreed to testify against Csonka in court.

However, the trial took unexpected turns. Csonka's defense attorney, a slick American, questioned Wes's credibility, bringing up his troubled past and personal history with Csonka. Wes and Csonka had both been in a juvenile facility, though not at the same time. Csonka had previously assaulted Wes's childhood friend, Trevor Ochoa, which fueled Wes's animosity. The defense attorney used this history to suggest that Wes had fabricated evidence against Csonka, leading to Wes losing his cool on the stand.

The courtroom drama was further complicated by the Hungarian legal system, where the judge seemed to favor Csonka's attorney, and Wes's personal history was put on trial. The prosecution was on the verge of dropping the case, and Wes's emotional outburst did not help their cause.

In a desperate move, the Fly Team shifted their focus to Csonka's involvement in Vilmos's murder. They followed the money trail and discovered that a prison guard had been paid off. The guard, under pressure, claimed he thought Csonka would only beat up Vilmos, not kill him. The prison initially refused to cooperate with the investigation, but the Fly Team managed to apprehend the guard and follow the money to Csonka's financial handler in Hungary.

The financial handler, however, killed himself as the team closed in, leaving behind coded records of Csonka's transactions. With time running out, the team decided to bluff Csonka into accepting a plea deal, offering him 30 years in a less comfortable prison. Csonka took the deal, but during his transfer, a truck crashed into the motorcade, and armed attackers appeared. In the chaos, Csonka escaped, and Wes and Vo pursued him in a police car.

Tragically, a sniper shot Vo during the chase, leaving her critically injured. Wes's priority shifted to saving Vo, and Csonka managed to escape in the confusion. Vo was rushed to the hospital, where her condition worsened, and Wes was left grappling with the decision to abandon his badge and seek personal revenge against Csonka.

The episode ends with Wes and the team tracking Csonka to an abandoned airfield, where he had already fled in a plane. With Vo's life hanging in the balance and Csonka still at large, the Fly Team faces a daunting challenge ahead. The episode leaves viewers on a cliffhanger, questioning whether Vo will survive and how far Wes will go to avenge those he has lost.
