In the cold embrace of the Grey Team's headquarters, Jung Su-jin lies in a
state of unconscious limbo, her humanity debated upon by those who hold her fate
in their hands. Choi Jun-kyung, resolute in her conviction, sees Su-jin not as a
human but as a host for a parasitic entity, while Kim Cheol-min clings to the
belief in Su-jin's humanity, arguing against the prejudice that threatens to
consume her.

The debate rages on, with X-rays and hair tests providing no evidence of a parasitic presence. Cheol-min's protestations fall on deaf ears, as the Grey Team, driven by the fear of the unknown, decides to keep Su-jin under watchful surveillance. The higher-ups, grappling with the decision to disclose the secret of the parasites to the public, settle on further testing, much to Jun-kyung's satisfaction.
In the depths of her coma, Su-jin's parasitic companion, Hedy, engages in a profound dialogue within the confines of Su-jin's mind. Hedy warns of the impending panic and pain that would come with consciousness, a torment that could swiftly lead to death. To protect Su-jin, Hedy severs her consciousness from the outside world, leading her to confront her innermost fears and memories.
The abyss of Su-jin's psyche reveals a childhood marred by maternal rejection and a deep-seated belief in her own monstrosity. Yet Hedy offers a different perspective, suggesting that Su-jin's mother's disdain was a reflection of her environment, not a genuine expression of hatred towards her daughter. Hedy, though unwillingly born into this existence, acknowledges the symbiotic relationship that has formed between them, a bond that transcends the curse of a solitary fate.
Meanwhile, Cheol-min, armed with the possible whereabouts of Seo Gyeong-woo, ventures into the shadows to seek him out. Gyeong-woo, his past catching up with him, warns Cheol-min of the monster within their ranks, a warning that initially falls on skeptical ears. Yet as the truth unravels, Cheol-min realizes the gravity of the situation and the urgent need to save Su-jin from the Grey Team's headquarters.
With a plan in motion, Cheol-min and Gyeong-woo attempt to rescue Su-jin, only to find themselves in the crosshairs of a trap set by the parasites, who have been tipped off by their mole within the ranks. The escort mission, fraught with tension, becomes a battleground as the parasites launch a daring attack to reclaim Su-jin.
In the chaos of the assault, Gyeong-woo manages to free Su-jin, but their escape is short-lived as Kang, the detective turned traitor, pursues them with a singular purpose—to bring Cheol-min to heel and serve the new order that the parasites are forging. Su-jin, sensing the danger to Cheol-min, witnesses the horrifying transfer of a parasite into him, while Hedy is forced to protect her host at all costs.
As the episode draws to a close, Cheol-min, now under the influence of the parasite, clings to the belief that Hedy is a rational being who values life and poses no significant threat. The line between friend and foe blurs, and the Grey Team finds itself in a precarious position, questioning who can be trusted in this war against the parasites.
