After the part of "Wyatt" within Dolores awakened, she commanded other hosts to carry out a massacre in Westworld. Ford was killed by Dolores' gun during his retirement speech, and many shareholders and wealthy guests became playthings for the awakened hosts.
When Bernard woke up, he found himself by the seaside and soon heard someone calling him. As his consciousness gradually returned, he recalled the chaos that had erupted in Westworld. He seemed to have lost a large portion of his memories, and he didn't know whether the soldiers surrounding him were friends or foes. He didn't want to reveal his identity. The soldiers took him to their leader, and along the way, Bernard constantly saw hosts being killed by humans, which deeply troubled him. Walking through a field of corpses, he met Karl, the operations director of Delos Corporation. Karl recognized Bernard and took him along, hoping Bernard could provide some information.
From Karl, Bernard learned that communications had been cut off for two weeks. In other words, two weeks had passed since Dolores launched the massacre in the park, and no one knew what had happened during that time except those trapped inside.
Led by Dolores, the hosts and Teddy wreaked havoc in the park. The Man in Black, old William, barely survived among the corpses of shareholders but was soon injured again. However, after all his years in the park, survival was not difficult for him. After tending to his wounds, William encountered a host version of Ford's younger self—Robert. At this point, Robert had been programmed by Ford, and William felt as though he were conversing with the Ford who had just been killed by Dolores. Robert reminded William that there was a game designed specifically for him, and he must complete it. William disdainfully agreed to play the game and then coldly shot Robert dead.
Maeve, who could have escaped, returned to Westworld. With her administrator privileges, she moved effortlessly between the lab and the park. She took a high-ranking creative department executive hostage, forcing him to lead her to her daughter. Along the way, she also sought out her old lover, Hector.
As Bernard walked, he recalled past events. When Dolores incited the uprising, he had still been uncertain about his identity. But the transparent fluid flowing from his head and his disoriented state seemed to confirm time and again that he was a host. Bernard, Charlotte, and a few humans fled from the enraged and crazed hosts while trying to reach the terminal exit to escape Westworld. However, many shareholders and guests failed to escape, leaving only Charlotte and Bernard. Seeing the situation, Charlotte no longer held back and took Bernard to a secret exit belonging to Delos Corporation.
It was Bernard's first time entering this mysterious place—it seemed to be a secret research facility unknown even to Ford. Charlotte sent a distress signal from a computer screen but received a reply stating that they must find a crucial host, Peter Abernathy, before they could leave. At this point, Charlotte asked Bernard to find a way. Looking at the host lying on the research bed, Bernard said he could locate Abernathy through the hosts' network. Hosts automatically connected with the nearest host. While Charlotte was changing clothes, Bernard activated the host's network mode. Indeed, the truth could not be hidden: the nearest host was Bernard himself. Bernard was in poor condition but forced himself to stay alert. He checked his own physical data and, with only forty minutes of functionality left, extracted cerebral fluid from another host and injected it into himself.
Bernard helped Charlotte find Abernathy and also concealed his own identity.
As Bernard walked with Karl, he recalled his experiences with Charlotte in the secret lab, but one thing still eluded him: how did he end up by the seaside?
