The militant faction's massacre lasted nearly two hours, but with only 15 minutes remaining, the witch still had not been identified. The remaining members of the Beach were cornered by the militant faction. At that moment, Arisu and his group appeared. Arisu stated that he had been detained by Kuni and the others at the time of the incident, so his innocence should be unquestionable. If Kuni wasn’t the witch, he should cooperate with Arisu to find the real witch and end the game. Despite Arisu's logical reasoning, Kuni responded by violently beating him.
Yuzuha angrily accused Kuni, saying, "Even someone as clearly innocent as Arisu you beat—you must be the witch!" Her words resonated with the crowd, and some began to suspect Kuni was the witch. Kuni then admitted he was the witch and urged everyone to shoot him. As militant faction members raised their guns to kill Kuni, Arisu stopped them.
Arisu believed this was a Hearts game—a game that plays with people's hearts—and that simply killing Kuni would not clear it. He argued that Kuni wasn’t the witch but was confessing out of a desire to die, because he was the one who had killed Danma Hikaru. Arisu suggested that Kuni and Danma were actually close friends who pretended to be at odds to collaborate in preventing people like Samura Ryōin and Nira from causing chaos.

Kuni and Danma had been best friends since first arriving in this world, though they had initially felt lost. However, Danma was a visionary who decided to create a utopia called "The Beach" for all those despairing in this world. If this world offered no hope, Danma would create hope himself. He successfully persuaded Kuni and everyone else to build The Beach, a place that seemed full of promise.
But after becoming the King of the Beach, Danma changed. He mercilessly killed those who hoarded playing cards and established the Beach's third rule: betrayers of the Beach must die. In truth, Danma had cleared his own game unscathed that day and returned to The Beach late at night to meet with his friend Kuni.

Kuni confided in Danma, saying he could no longer control the situation and that he was losing his grip on Nira and his followers. He suggested disbanding The Beach. Danma refused. Kuni accused Danma of giving everyone false hope with his lies. After a heated argument, Danma drew his pistol, aimed it at Kuni, and pulled the trigger. Kuni fell, drew his own gun, and shot Danma dead. To Kuni’s immense grief, Danma’s gun had not been loaded. Kuni had killed his own brother.
Blaming the residents of The Beach for driving Danma mad, Kuni wanted to die and take everyone with him as punishment. Arisu believed that Hearts games manipulate people’s emotions and that the designer’s goal wasn’t to have only one survivor—there must be a way for everyone to survive. The only witch fitting this logic was Momoka, who had actually taken her own life. To make everyone pay, Kuni had prevented them from burning Momoka’s body, leading to violent confrontations.
Amid the chaos, Asahi believed she could stop Kuni and urged Arisu and the others to throw Momoka’s body into the bonfire to end the senseless killing. She rushed into the crowd and shouted that she was the dealer of this game. As soon as she spoke, a red laser struck from the sky, killing her. Her confession stunned everyone.
Anzu Tsukasa, supported by Mizuki, arrived and confirmed that Momoka had died by suicide—the fingerprints on the knife were reversed, indicating she had stabbed herself. Arisu pleaded with Kuni, saying he understood the pain of killing a friend but urged him not to take it out on others. Momoka and Asahi had made great sacrifices so that everyone could live. "We are all fighting despair in our own ways," Arisu said. "Don’t look down on those who are still trying to survive."

At that moment, a severely burned Nira appeared and began attacking everyone. Arisu and Yuzuha rushed to stop him. Nira fired at Yuzuha, but Arisu shielded her. In the critical moment, Kuni threw himself in front of Arisu, taking several bullets and tackling Nira back into the fire.

In the final moments, everyone threw Momoka’s body into the bonfire. Their phones buzzed with a notification: "Congratulations! Game cleared!" In the midst of their grief, Yuzuha wanted to take revenge on the militant faction, but Arisu stopped her. One member of the militant faction, seeking redemption, pulled out a gun to kill himself—but when he pulled the trigger, the gun was unloaded. Arisu told him, "We’re still alive. That’s enough."

Kyūya retrieved the long-coveted Ten of Hearts from the fire. The next day, Arisu and Yuzuha watched a video on Momoka and Asahi’s phone. It revealed that after arriving in this world, they had met a mysterious figure who trained them to become game dealers. To survive, they had indirectly caused the deaths of many others, which tormented them deeply. Following the clues in the video, Arisu and Yuzuha took the metro to the game operators' building, only to find all the staff inside had been killed.

Meanwhile, Kyūya and Mizuki also arrived at the building. Suddenly, all the screens in the building lit up, displaying an image of Kano Mirai. With a sinister smile, she recounted the killings Arisu and the others had committed along the way and announced she had prepared a gift for them—a new phase of the game was about to begin. The Face Cards were coming.

The next noon, Arisu, Yuzuha, Kyūya, and Mizuki stood in the middle of the street. Fireworks lit up the sky, marking the official start of the second stage. A massive airship slowly descended, and banners bearing the Face Cards appeared over the city. "I will find the answers," Arisu vowed.
