Murphy and his wife Connie flew to Colombia. From the plane, Colombia looked like a pure forest park—magnificent and beautiful. Little did they know that beneath the layers of greenery, evil was constantly breeding and spreading. Cocaine was being produced in large quantities, flowing to other parts of the world and bringing a steady stream of US dollars to the drug lords.
Red specially bought a small island to serve as a transit point for drugs and money, and soon the island became a paradise for drug lords to indulge in pleasure. As drugs became more rampant, the drug lords faced the problem of converting massive amounts of cash into legal income. Escobar opened a taxi company to launder money, and the cash that couldn't be cleaned was hidden in bundles in various places. He even started doing charity, distributing large sums of cash directly to the poor. For a time, he enjoyed immense popularity among the poor in Medellín, and even made the bold claim that he would run for president.
The drug lords' enormous wealth caught the attention of the local communist organization M-19. They decided to kidnap Marta, the sister of the Ochoa brothers, to extort a large ransom. That day was the lion's 100th round trip to the United States, and also the first day Murphy and his wife arrived in Colombia. As soon as they got off the plane, they were taken to an office at the airport for having insufficient documents for their pet cat.
But Murphy never imagined that he had already been targeted by the drug lords the moment he set foot on Colombian soil, even though he hadn't caught a glimpse of any of them. Murphy's partner in Colombia, Peña, was skilled at obtaining intelligence from the prostitutes who had slept with the drug lords. Peña developed an informant named Helena among the prostitutes, who was desperate for Peña to get her a visa to the United States. After sleeping together, Helena told Peña that she and the other girls were about to leave for Medellín.
Peña took Murphy to meet people at the embassy, then to the ambassador, requesting intelligence on Medellín. He said that the gathering of all the drug lords in Medellín must mean something big was going to happen. With the ambassador's approval, Peña took Murphy to Medellín to meet Colonel Carrillo, and together they went to a hotel to take photos of the drug lords to memorize their faces.
Sure enough, taking advantage of Marta's abduction, Escobar gathered all the drug lords and announced the establishment of the Extraditables, declaring himself the leader in charge of the organization's daily operations on the condition that he would protect the drug lords from M-19.
After the meeting, the drug lords indulged in pleasure. Helena took the initiative to seduce Gacha, seemingly casually asking about the content of the meeting, which aroused the suspicion of the inherently distrustful Gacha. Gacha threw Helena to the lower-level drug lords, and the poor Helena was brutally gang-raped. When Peña waited endlessly for Helena to appear, he and Colonel Carrillo led men to rescue the dying Helena.
Murphy expressed strong dissatisfaction with Peña leaving him to act alone, and Peña hoped he could understand the true meaning of his persistence. Escobar launched a massacre against M-19, and under pressure, M-19 had to release Marta. Escobar sent photos of the killed M-19 members to newspapers. Ivan, the leader of M-19, came to surrender with the Sword of Bolívar, a symbol of Colombian freedom. Escobar did not kill him, but only said that they should strengthen cooperation in the future.
After Ivan left, Escobar handed over the daily operations of the organization to Gustavo, saying that he was going to liberate Colombia. Despite the rampant sin in Colombia, countless people still wanted to make it a better place through their own efforts—people like Colonel Carrillo, and like Mrs. Connie. That night, when Murphy and his wife got home, Connie found their beloved cat hanging in the house. Murphy quickly pulled out his gun and entered the house to check.
