"Tweener" eavesdropped on Michael and Lincoln's conversation and informed Abruzzi and Sucre that one of them would be excluded from the escape plan. Abruzzi decided to eliminate the troublemaker "T-Bag."

Veronica rushed the severely bleeding Nick to the hospital. LJ saw his mother's funeral announcement in the newspaper and secretly left the hospital. Agent Hale was waiting at the cemetery, and LJ soon caught his attention. Kellerman instructed Hale over the phone to tail LJ to locate Veronica, but as Hale watched LJ weeping beside his mother's coffin, his already wavering resolve filled him with even greater anguish.
Under "Tweener's" provocation, Sucre grew increasingly doubtful about Michael's plan. Abruzzi ordered his men to capture "T-Bag," but unexpectedly, "T-Bag" slashed Abruzzi's throat with a razor.

Veronica suddenly received a mysterious phone call. Hale told her that if she was willing to continue risking everything to save Lincoln, she should meet him at Highland Café that night—he had valuable information to share.

Michael completed the final preparations for the escape plan—all the tunnels were now connected. Above ground, Lincoln, who was keeping watch, noticed Officer Geary approaching the ruins of the guard station. To buy time for Michael to climb out of the tunnel, Lincoln punched Geary in the face.

After climbing out of the tunnel, Michael excitedly announced that tonight was the scheduled escape time. However, at that very moment, Lincoln was being dragged away by two guards toward solitary confinement.
