When Bernard came to his senses, he found himself following the riot control team into the basement to strategize against the hosts' rebellion. Charlotte, who had already been rescued by the riot control team, quickly regained her composure. She looked at Bernard, recalling that he had been captured by the Southern Army in the park, yet here he was, unharmed. Bernard responded vaguely, but he reacted to another question from Charlotte: she asked if he knew Peter Abernathy's whereabouts.
Bernard's mind immediately drifted back to earlier events.

At that time, Bernard and Charlotte were searching for Peter Abernathy in the park. Along the way, they encountered a group of host outlaws programmed as violent bandits, who had taken several guests hostage. Charlotte and Bernard decided to intervene. After a battle of wits and courage, Bernard successfully accessed the data of the outlaw leader and reprogrammed him into a morally upright sharpshooter. The sharpshooter joined their side, and the guests managed to escape. However, one of the guests, driven by a sense of glory, decided to confront the hosts head-on. Unable to bear the thought of humans being slaughtered, Bernard stepped in. Charlotte fled on her own, and Bernard was taken captive.

Meanwhile, Dolores and her followers located the brutal Colonel in the war zone and his army, proposing an alliance to seize the "Glory Land." The Colonel agreed to ally with Dolores, and her group stayed overnight in his fort. Dolores discovered that her father was also there, but his cognitive functions seemed impaired. He still recognized Dolores, but occasionally uttered things she couldn’t understand.

Another batch of captives was brought to the Colonel's fort, and Bernard was among them. Dolores, remembering Arnold and looking at Bernard, realized he was a host and sensed that he must be hiding some secret. That night, she confronted Bernard directly, telling him he was modeled after Arnold and speaking about the "aspirations" of hosts. Regardless of whether Bernard accepted her ideas, she needed him to fix her father.

The next day, the riot control team launched an attack on the Colonel's fort. Dolores and the Colonel joined forces, engaging in a fierce battle with the humans. Inside, Bernard frantically searched for a way to repair Dolores's father. He discovered that this "father" was unusual—much of the information stored within him was encrypted, suggesting deeply hidden secrets. The more intense the battle outside grew, the more anxious Bernard became. Suddenly, he succeeded in decrypting the data: Dolores's father was Peter Abernathy.
Bernard experienced another system malfunction and was discovered by Clementine, who knocked him unconscious.

Dolores repelled the riot control team and took control of the Colonel's fort. After the battle, she ordered Teddy to do her dirty work—execute the Colonel's men. Teddy stood at the execution ground, hesitating. The Colonel told Teddy that they were very much alike: both were executioners for tyrants, carrying out cruel orders, and it was utterly tragic. A subtle shift occurred in Teddy—he began to form his own thoughts, no longer blindly obeying Dolores's commands. Teddy spared the Colonel's men. Watching from afar, Dolores felt a twinge of dissatisfaction.
