Saul refused to finish work, but his secretary urged him, saying many clients downstairs were getting impatient. Saul had wanted to delay, but he reluctantly stood up, glanced at his golden divorce papers, and then told the secretary to send the clients up.

Kim was meticulous even when buying sauces for cooking. At work, she was dedicated to her job; at home, she lived earnestly. Saul called Kim’s workplace, saying, “We haven’t talked in ages. I thought you might want to know I’m still alive.” Kim remained silent, but Saul pressed, “Say something.” Kim urged him to turn himself in, but Saul replied, “We shouldn’t throw away our current lives.” Kim said, “I’m glad you’re alive,” and hung up.

Kim specifically went to see Cheryl, handing her a letter. It detailed what she and Saul had done, told Cheryl that Howard hadn’t suffered much when he died, and explained there was currently no evidence for a prosecution—leaving the decision to Cheryl. On the bus, Kim couldn’t hold back her tears and cried uncontrollably.

Gene entered a house where the owner was sleeping directly on the floor. He continued photographing the documents on the table and started searching for a password. After messing around for a while, Gene discovered someone else was downstairs. Overwhelmed with nervousness, he found a chance to sneak out of the house quietly.

Kim signed the documents and handed them to Saul. He signed immediately, wished her well, and pretended not to care. Kim left helplessly.

As soon as Kim stepped outside, it started raining. She lit a cigarette, and a man nearby asked to borrow a lighter. Kim said, “I hope you quit your drug addiction,” but the man kept rambling on. Unwilling to listen further, Kim put on her hat and left.

Shortly after returning to his residence, Gene received a call from Jeff. Jeff said, “My dad got arrested by the police.” Gene asked what happened, and Jeff replied, “It’s a ridiculous mistake. I had a minor traffic accident—nothing serious. I accidentally stepped on the gas; maybe the throttle was faulty anyway. But that’s not the main issue. The police think I committed theft. A drunk guy claims his stuff was stolen, but I didn’t steal anything.” Gene said, “It must be a mix-up. You didn’t steal anything, so don’t worry. I’ll get you out before lunch. Trust me.” Jeff hung up soon after.

Marion found out about the incident. Gene said, “I’ll spend whatever it takes to fix this for you. No need to worry at all.” Marion thanked him.

Gene went to Marion’s house and told her to get dressed to leave together. Marion said, “I searched for scammers online, and your photo popped up. I want to call the police right now.” In the end, Gene couldn’t bear to kill her and ran away in a hurry.
