The woman was driving when she sensed someone following her. She stayed alert and pulled over to a phone booth. As she did, the phone rang—she answered it, and the caller (Saul) instructed her to pick up something at a designated location. After retrieving it, she told Saul the money inside was intact, not eaten by mice. She added that she’d never done anything like this before, yet now she was being followed constantly, her mail was opened, and her home phone rang nonstop whenever she tried to use it. "Buying the farm didn’t change a thing," she said. Saul flew into a rage on the other end but forced himself to ask about the people around her—until Kim’s name came up, and Saul fell silent. The call was abruptly disconnected. He tried to call back to reach Kim, but failed. Frustrated, Saul kicked the phone booth hard.

Gene told Jeff, "We’re going to get some drugs." Jeff protested, "Didn’t you say we were even? Are you getting back into the old game?"

Gene sang on stage while Victor cheered below, exclaiming, "Didn’t expect you to sing live! Wanna make a bet?" Gene ended up losing, and Victor was overjoyed. On his way home, Victor drank some water and soon felt violently ill. Jeff, who was his driver, dropped him off at his door and deliberately left it unlocked. Gene arrived at Victor’s house with a dog and photographed all his account information.

Saul refused to talk about Lalo, acting as if he didn’t know him at all. Posing as Victor, Gene met with someone—only to learn the man had cancer. "I’m sorry," Gene said, asking if the client could still drink. The client replied, "I only get one choice." Saul lay on the floor, relaxing with a massager, when Mike suddenly showed up. He asked Saul to investigate Dennis’s wife, who was having an affair.

Mike said he’d been following a bus driver, who indeed had a neck problem. He told Saul, "Laski, that Indiana thief, has checked out Maynard. If you need someone who can keep their mouth shut, he’s reliable." Saul scoffed, "I know plenty of thieves—pimply kids."

Saul asked about the guy named Heisenberg. Mike replied, "He’s a high school chemistry teacher, working with his former student Jesse now." Saul pressed for news on Walt. Mike said, "He has lung cancer." Saul gasped, "No wonder he’s always coughing—how bad is it?" Mike answered, "Locally advanced. He’s undergoing tests and treatment, but it’s not looking good. Even if he beats the cancer, the police will take him down. He’s not worth mentioning." Gene told Jeff to pick him up in twenty minutes, just like any regular passenger.
