Skyler took the kids to Hank’s house to help out, leaving Walter alone at home. He sat by the pool, ready to end his life, but ultimately backed down. Walter’s son worried about his safety, and Marie called Walter right away. Hank asked his friend to keep investigating Gus—his friend checked the location but found nothing out of the ordinary.

Jesse finished making a delivery and called Walter, but Walter didn’t answer. He then got a call from Saul, who told him he was about to flee. When Jesse got home, the hospital called to say Andrea’s son had the flu. At that moment, he noticed the poison he’d been hiding in a cigarette was gone, and he suspected Walter was behind it.

Jesse rushed to Walter’s house immediately, pointing a gun at him and threatening to kill him. Walter denied doing it, telling Jesse this was all Gus’s scheme—only Gus would play with a child’s life.

Jesse ultimately chose to believe Walter and stormed out, determined to kill Gus. Walter urged him to calm down, suggesting he go to the hospital to visit Andrea’s son. Gus’s men ordered Jesse to report to work right away, but Jesse refused.

Walter was making a makeshift bomb at home when Gus drove to the hospital to find Jesse. Gus spoke to Jesse, who insisted he would stay at the hospital until Andrea’s son got better—Jesse refused to leave. Gus finally agreed to let him stay, but ordered him to return to work as usual the following week.

Walter planted the bomb on Gus’s car and waited nearby, ready to detonate it. Gus sensed something was wrong and decided not to get in the car in the end. Walter’s last hope was crushed, and he thought he was doomed to die.
