Gus's men rushed to Gale's house and found Gale already dead. The neighbors nearby immediately called the police. When Gus's man spotted Jesse's car parked at the door, he immediately took Jesse back to the lab.

Jesse and Walter were detained in the lab. Walter insisted that since Gale was dead, he was the only one who could help Gus make money. Gus's man immediately started the equipment and began cooking meth on his own, leaving Walter stunned as he watched.

When Gus arrived at the lab, Walter was so frightened that he tried to negotiate terms with him, but Gus said nothing. Walter grew even more scared. At that moment, Gus pulled out a knife, killed his own man, and ordered Walter and Jesse to get to work right away.

Marie went to see Skyler and gave her Hank's bills. She noticed Walter's car parked outside Skyler's house and assumed the two had made up. Skyler immediately drove Walter's car to find him, only to find his apartment door locked. She asked the apartment manager to unlock it, but the manager refused. Skyler eventually managed to get in, only to discover Walter wasn't home.

Skyler called Saul and told him bluntly that she was extremely worried about Walter's safety. Saul tried to comfort her, but he had no information either. Hank was recovering at home, and his temper had become terrible due to the slow progress of his recovery. Marie was also frustrated by this process and didn't want to go home. Hank snapped at Marie over a trivial matter at home, leaving Marie feeling deeply wronged.

Walter and Jesse disposed of the body of Gus's man, then discussed their future plans at a fast-food restaurant. Walter believed Gus must be recruiting someone to replace him, and when that day came, neither he nor Jesse would be able to save their lives. He thus plotted to kill Gus.

Walter took a taxi back home. Skyler told him she had moved his car, so Walter went to retrieve and drive it away. Meanwhile, the police were investigating the crime scene at Gale's house. They found a lab notebook and took it away as evidence.
