Walter explains to Gale why he can’t continue working with him, and just then Jesse appears. Disappointed by the man who’s about to replace him, Gale is furious with Walter.

Walter shows Jesse around the lab, and Jesse tells him that Hank was attacked and is now in the hospital undergoing emergency treatment. Walter rushes to the hospital to comfort Marie, with Skyler also present.

Marie gets into an argument with Hank’s superior over the confiscation of Hank’s gun. Her emotions are on the verge of collapse, and Hank’s colleagues line up to donate blood for him. Walter’s family waits anxiously for updates on Hank in the hospital, while Jesse is extremely agitated in the lab.

Marie refuses to eat or drink, and Skyler urges her to have something. Walter comforts Marie. Gus receives a call from the Mexicans, who berate him. Hank’s surgery is completed, and he is temporarily out of danger. Marie remains frantic, and the doctor reassures her.

Jesse feels bored in the office. Gus’s men come to check on the lab and find Walter absent. Jesse calls Walter immediately, and Walter realizes that the men who attacked Hank are Tuco’s cousins.

Walter is chatting with his son in the hospital when Gus calls to ask about the lab delay. Walter blames it on Gale’s previous mistakes.

Walter asks Hank’s colleagues about the Mexicans. Meanwhile, Gus sends food to everyone in the hospital and exchanges a brief chat with Skyler and the others. Walter asks Gus if he knows who attacked Hank, but Gus refuses to disclose details. At this point, the hospital confirms that one of the men who attacked Hank is dead. The Mexican leader calls Gus to inquire, and Gus orders his men to kill him outright.
Hank’s condition stabilizes in the hospital, and Marie and the others go to visit him.
