Escobar's prison was called La Catedral. Though its exterior seemed dilapidated, the interior was quite luxurious. A steady stream of supplies and beautiful women were delivered in for the killers imprisoned with him to enjoy. Escobar had built the prison like a castle, yet he still couldn't gain freedom. He could never get over Gustavo's death—even though he knew he should negotiate with the Cali Cartel, he couldn't help but have Barcha's men killed.

Murphy and Connie adopted Jamie's daughter. Connie was terrified when she saw Murphy pull a gun and shoot at someone's tire after an argument. President Gaviria and his wife watched the bustling crowd in the park as everything returned to calm, feeling a slight sense of comfort for the decision they had made against their conscience.

Galeano and Moncada went to see Barcha, expressing Escobar's willingness to negotiate, but Barcha thought this was not in Escobar's style. Moncada hoped to resolve the dispute between the two factions in Los Angeles, offering 12 million US dollars, but Barcha only agreed to 3 million. Barcha insisted that the Medellín Cartel was at the end of its rope, but Moncada reminded him that Medellín's export volume was still twice that of Cali. Barcha tried to provoke their relationship with Escobar through war, but the two remained unmoved. Moncada and Galeano told Escobar the result of the negotiation, claiming that Barcha had shown considerable respect and admiration for him—but Escobar quickly saw through their lies.

The search team was disbanded, and Carrillo was dispatched to Spain. Murphy and Peña saw him off. Carrillo showed them aerial photos of the prison taken by the Colombian military at low altitude, telling them that Escobar was now trafficking more drugs than ever. The key point was that the government turned a blind eye to it—they just needed to focus on dealing with the Cali Cartel.

Murphy and Peña discovered that Escobar was using the most primitive method of carrier pigeons to send messages. They quickly intercepted the messages, suspecting he had dug a tunnel in the prison to transport goods. The CIA used infrared cameras but found no trace of a tunnel, and everyone thought it was just a fantasy—until Connie soon spotted the truck transporting the drug lords.

Peña and Murphy stopped Paisa, installed a hidden camera in his car, and coerced him into filming everything he transported each time. When the DEA's photos were sent to Gaviria, what worried him most was whether the DEA would leak these photos to the media. Edward tried to persuade Gaviria to take immediate remedial measures, but Gaviria felt that Escobar could only control this prison now. If he had to choose between the prostitutes sent in and bombs, he would be grateful for the prostitutes.

Escobar's family came to the prison to celebrate his birthday. During the dinner, Moncada's wife kept complaining about how difficult business was now. Although she said everyone was grateful for Escobar's sacrifices and that these were what he deserved, Escobar began to have a trace of suspicion, which he did not show on his face.

The money Escobar had hidden underground before was dug up. Fearing involvement, the farmer immediately handed the money over to Escobar's chief hitman. One of his men told Escobar that the goods lost by Moncada and Galeano were exactly worth that amount of money—and Escobar's suspicion was aroused. The three soon fell out unhappily. Before leaving, Escobar still made up his mind to kill the two, then dismembered and burned their bodies.

Vicente told Barcha the news of Moncada and Galeano's deaths, and Barcha asked him to contact the DEA. Vicente told Murphy and Peña the news but demanded to exchange intelligence, which Murphy firmly refused. After returning, Murphy and Peña indeed did not see the two men return in the photos, and began to believe Vicente's information. Murphy and Peña decided to complete their mission in their own way.
