Due to Shaun’s improper handling of the previous robbery incident, Aaron recommended a life coach to him to help with interpersonal skills and problem-solving. However, Shaun disliked Aaron’s arrangement and fired the coach on the excuse that their outfit was inappropriate. When seeing Shaun seeing the coach out, Leah happened to pass by. She teased Shaun a little and coquettishly called him a "jerk".

The hospital collaborated with an international humanitarian organization to treat Gabriel, a child with heart disease from an African tribe, and even held a press conference for this initiative. Dr. Melendez and Dr. Avery were in charge of the project. When Melendez learned that Gabriel’s condition was actually untreatable, he was furious—he believed the hospital was only putting on a show for publicity. Nevertheless, he reluctantly agreed to proceed after Jessica’s persuasion.

During Gabriel’s examination, they found his condition was far worse than expected. However, Dr. Avery, the cardiologist, insisted on treating Gabriel. Melendez argued that the medical resources should be allocated to other patients who could benefit more, which led to a disagreement between the two doctors.

While examining Gabriel together, Brown and Shaun chatted casually. After hearing about Shaun’s morning encounter with Leah, Brown told Shaun that Leah didn’t actually dislike him—her behavior was just a way of flirting with him. Moreover, Brown explained a "three-step flirting method" to Shaun, who listened with great interest.

Elizabeth, a female anchor, was diagnosed with a vocal cord issue, which might be a tumor. To confirm the diagnosis, the hospital scheduled a nodule biopsy for her, and Brown was assigned to take care of this patient. Unexpectedly, the biopsy sample went missing from the sample room the next day, causing a major trouble. Brown initially didn’t want to alarm the hospital’s senior management; she and her colleagues hurried to search for the sample but found nothing after a whole day’s effort.

Biopsy samples have an expiration date, so Brown could no longer keep the matter secret. She reported the incident to the hospital. Jessica, who was in charge of crisis management, brought the relevant doctors to Elizabeth’s ward and informed her about the situation. Elizabeth was extremely angry—without the sample, the hospital could no longer determine whether her cancer was benign or malignant. For safety reasons, she would have to undergo vocal cord removal surgery, which would leave her voiceless.

Over the next 24 hours, Brown and her colleagues investigated the sample room and all possible locations the sample might have been taken to based on clues, but still found nothing. They discovered that a doctor had once stayed in the cafeteria with a large batch of samples, so Brown and another doctor rummaged through all the trash cans in the cafeteria—yet again, they found nothing.

Although Melendez thought Gabriel’s condition was incurable, he still made active efforts to treat him. However, after several days of observation, Melendez noticed that the hospital’s medication had no effect on Gabriel. He then suspected that Gabriel’s mother, Bongeu, hadn’t been giving the medicine to her son. Sure enough, under Melendez’s questioning, Bongeu admitted the truth. She said she wanted to keep her son here, so she deliberately withheld the medicine—because once Gabriel’s condition improved, they would be sent back to their impoverished tribe.

In the end, Melendez was deeply moved by Bongeu’s words. He called Shaun, and the two practiced performing surgery on a simulated heart in the simulation lab, repeating the process over and over again until they found a surgical method suitable for Gabriel. Melendez decided to take the risk and perform the surgery on Gabriel to give him a better future.

Two days passed, and Elizabeth’s sample was still missing. She had no choice but to proceed with the vocal cord removal surgery. Brown felt extremely guilty about this incident and tried her best to make up for her mistake. At that moment, she suddenly thought that Elizabeth’s sample might have been put into the wrong container. She rushed back to the sample room to recheck, and finally found that the sample had indeed been placed in the wrong bottle. She successfully stopped the doctors just before the surgery. However, Elizabeth couldn’t forgive the hospital’s careless mistake and still filed a lawsuit.

After numerous practice sessions, Melendez and Shaun decided to perform the surgery on Gabriel. Although they encountered new difficulties during the operation, Melendez resolved them all in the end, and Gabriel’s heart returned to normal. Bongeu was deeply moved and expressed her sincere gratitude to Melendez.

After the surgery, Shaun had a talk with Aaron. He stated that he didn’t need a life coach, didn’t need help from a stranger, and was doing just fine. But Aaron didn’t listen at all—he believed Shaun was just avoiding his own flaws.
