Walter was about to deal with the drug dealer and Emilio when the dealer suddenly woke up from his unconsciousness—startling both of them. For safety, Walter locked the dealer in the basement of Jesse’s house. They split up the tasks: Jesse would take care of Emilio, while Walter kept watch over the dealer.

Neither of them dared to kill the dealer, yet they were terrified that he would expose their plan if he escaped. Torn between these fears, they ended up keeping the dealer under house arrest in Jesse’s basement.

Walter’s wife went to the hospital for a prenatal check-up and was overjoyed to find out she was having a baby girl.

Curious about Walter’s whereabouts when he was away from home, his wife Skyler called back the most recent contact on Walter’s phone. Unintentionally, she heard the voicemail Jesse had left for Walter—which mentioned drugs.
Filled with worry for Walter, she confronted him immediately. Walter lied, claiming that Jesse had wanted to sell him marijuana, and begged Skyler to stay out of it. Skyler was skeptical, her mind clouded with doubts.

To dispose of Emilio’s body, Walter told Jesse to dissolve it in a plastic container using strong acid. But in an attempt to take a shortcut, Jesse used the bathtub on the second floor of his house instead. The strong acid (hydrofluoric acid) dissolved the bathtub and the floor, causing the undissolved parts of Emilio’s body to fall down to the first floor.

When Walter discovered Jesse had cut corners, he was furious and scolded him: “I told you this would happen! Strong acid dissolves anything that isn’t plastic!” Both of them were overwhelmed by the trouble of cleaning up the remains.

Nevertheless, to cover their tracks, Walter and Jesse forced themselves to clean up the mess thoroughly.
