Mike was robbed while transporting the goods. He managed to keep the shipment safe in the end, but his ear was severely injured. At home, Skyler and Walter practiced the story about their supposed gambling— the one they planned to tell Marie and Hank. Skyler even taught Walter how to act like he gambled in a casino. Walter thought they didn’t need to be this cautious, but Skyler insisted.

At Hank’s house, Hank showed Walter the video Gale had recorded earlier. Walter felt extremely anxious. Then Hank handed him Gale’s notebook, which contained detailed records of the meth-cooking process. Walter took the chance to offer help to Hank, but deep down, he was terrified that Hank might investigate and find out about him. He even tried to sneak into Hank’s room to steal the notebook. Later, Walter asked Jesse if he had left any of his fingerprints at Gale’s place, but Jesse refused to recall what happened that day.

Walter went to Saul and complained that he might not live much longer, and that he had even dragged his family into this mess. Saul mentioned he could find someone to help Walter disappear— getting him and his family new identities— but warned there would be no turning back. Walter, however, thought they should find another way. Meanwhile, Jesse was drowning his sorrows in alcohol and drugs at home, only to have some of his money stolen.

Jesse showed up to work at the lab, and Walter noticed they were being watched by surveillance cameras the entire time. After work, Jesse went back home and gave drugs to everyone there; soon, everyone was high. Mike arrived at Jesse’s house, chased away all the guests, and caught the thief who had stolen Jesse’s money. Mike advised Jesse to stop wallowing in his self-destruction, but Jesse completely ignored him.

Mike reported the recent situation to Gus, mentioning that Jesse was a threat and couldn’t be allowed to continue like this. Walter realized Jesse hadn’t shown up for work all day and had a bad feeling. He went to Jesse’s house to look for him, only to find Jesse wasn’t there and had left his phone behind.

At that moment, Mike was driving down the road with Jesse in the car.
