Judy tried to persuade U.S. Detective Peña to cooperate with them to take down Escobar, but Peña refused. In the end, Judy handed over Marisa’s address to Peña as a show of sincerity, urging him to think it over again.
After Colonel Carrillo’s death, the manhunt team lost their leader and direction. However, the plan to capture Escobar could not be abolished. To this end, President Gaviria searched for another suitable candidate—Colonel Martínez. Though Colonel Martínez was unwilling, he was forced to accept the decision because of his son.
On the other hand, Escobar, who had stabilized his power after killing Colonel Carrillo, brought back Tata’s brother Carlos, decided to resume operations, and recalled Lion, his capable assistant who had been handling affairs for him in the United States.
Peña found Marisa with the address. Marisa said she had been kept in the dark by Limón the entire time. Afterwards, Peña reused Limón’s plan: using Marisa to lure out Limón, who would then lead them to Escobar’s man Velasco. Outnumbered and at a disadvantage, Peña requested support from the Colombian government but could not get it immediately. Desperate to make an arrest and left with no other options, Peña had to ask for help from Judy’s side, and finally succeeded in capturing Velasco.
Velasco was taken back by Bernardo. After being interrogated by Bernardo, although no information about Escobar’s whereabouts was obtained, Velasco revealed details about Lion, Escobar’s military and financial strength, and the address of Escobar’s accountant.
Lion, who arrived the next day, was picked up by the Cali Cartel. After a conversation, Lion flew back and told Escobar that Velasco had not come to the airport to meet him. When Peña asked about the results of Velasco’s interrogation, Bernardo refused to talk about it.
At Escobar’s home, Tata was preparing a big meal for the family reunion. Her brother Carlos expressed his worries to her, and Tata comforted him. Meanwhile, Colonel Martínez, the new leader of the manhunt team, received a warning in the form of an urn from Escobar. He told his impetuous son about it, urging him to recognize how terrifying Escobar was.
After taking office, the new leader Colonel Martínez ordered a carpet search, which Peña couldn’t understand. After Connie and Murphy comforted Colonel Carrillo’s wife, Connie was leaving Medellín and told Murphy to be careful.
Peña, who was allied with Judy, passed information about Escobar to Bernardo. The Castano brothers then launched a massive manhunt for Escobar’s men and hung Velasco up as a warning. Escobar’s man Chica informed him about the situation in the city. The Castano brothers’ tactic of attacking from the shadows had restricted Escobar, so he decided to leave his current residence.
