The Governor arranged a meeting with Rick, who went with Hershel and Daryl. When the group arrived outside an abandoned house, Hershel stayed in the car to keep watch, while Daryl got out and patrolled around.
Rick entered a warehouse to look for the Governor. The Governor pretended to be friendly and showed up empty-handed. Rick sat down in front of him, full of wariness, and the Governor took his seat calmly to talk with Rick. Little did Rick know, the Governor had hidden a pistol under the table, and his vigilance never wavered.
Dr. Milton was curious about Hershel’s missing leg. The two found a place to sit and chat, and Milton asked to see the stump of Hershel’s amputated leg, but Hershel politely declined his request.
Merle wanted to leave the prison, but Glenn refused to let him go. In a fit of rage, Merle shoved Glenn and pinned him to the ground, leaving Glenn unable to move. Beth, who was standing nearby and worried that Merle would hurt someone, quickly fired a shot into the air. Intimidated by Beth, Merle had no choice but to let Glenn go.
Hershel tried to persuade Andrea to return to the prison and rejoin their group, but Andrea was torn and didn’t give an immediate answer. Not long before, the Governor had assaulted Maggie—though he didn’t rape her, he had touched her body inappropriately. Hershel knew full well that the Governor was far from being a good person.
Inside the warehouse, the Governor negotiated with Rick. Michonne was the Governor’s sworn enemy: not long ago, Michonne had killed the Governor’s daughter, who had turned into a walker. Grief-stricken over the loss of his beloved daughter, the Governor had fought Michonne, and Michonne had gouged out one of his eyes. The Governor took off his eye patch in front of Rick to show his injured eye; Rick stared at it intently. The Governor warned Rick that if he wanted to protect the rest of his group, he had to hand over Michonne—if Rick agreed to do so, the Governor would stop attacking the prison.
Glenn and Maggie ran into a room to be intimate. Some walkers appeared outside the room, but Glenn and Maggie closed the roller shutter door, lay down on the ground, and continued being intimate. They quickly took off their clothes, paying no mind to the walkers outside.
The Governor reminded Rick that his group was small and would struggle to fend off external attacks. Although Rick knew his group was less powerful than the Governor’s, he didn’t immediately agree to hand over Michonne.
When Rick returned to the prison, he talked to Hershel about the Governor’s demand to hand over Michonne—and that he hadn’t agreed to it right away.
